Cottage Yarns, located in a former church in South San Francisco, is the premier destination for anyone searching out the most extensive selection of yarns, knitting and crochet supplies, and buttons on the Peninsula.  The store has been in continuous operation in SSF since 1966.  Kathryn Mulgrew, an SSF resident, is the current owner and third person to take the helm in all that time.  With over 500 different yarns (yes, that’s 500!) ranging from Angora to Yak you can always find something to strike your fancy in a mind-boggling assortment of fine materials and colors.  If we don’t have the exact brand you’re searching for, Kathryn can usually recommend a half dozen substitutes that will fit the bill in terms of material, weights and colors.  Once you’ve made your selection, we normally have sufficient quantities to make anything from a hat to a blanket and, if you’re short on the necessary tools for your project we have knitting needles from size 0 to 19.  When your next project beckons, come by for a visit and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
